LADIES : Please read !!! (Weight Loss vs. Inch Loss)
Society has trained us to WEIGH ourselves when we go on a ‘diet’. This is precisely why so many of us (yes, especially women) get caught up on the number on the scale versus inch loss. Even when I ‘know better’ I do as well.
As a personal trainer I encourage women to care more about body composition and how they FEEL and how their clothes fit. After all, FAT takes up more than 5x more ‘space’ than lean muscle, but as you can see by the visual above, it also burns far fewer calories. This is why weight resistant training (even using your own body weight versus weights or bands) is extremely helpful in changing your body composition.

Taking measurements is a much better way of doing things and measuring progress. Many times you can be doing a “muscle for fat exchange” and this is a good thing!!!!

As you are helping your body become more balanced and developing a healthier metabolism, you may have a fat for muscle exchange before you notice something on the scale. Something to be aware of.

Take photo of before
Take your measurements and body composition too, if available
